Yeovil Freewheelers EVS is a registered charity operating in South Somerset to provide an out-of-hours unique free courier service between hospitals and patients in their homes. The charity operates a fleet of three motorcycles to carry urgently needed medical items such as blood, biological samples, medical notes, x-rays and medicines. The service is provided free of charge and all members are unpaid volunteers.

We save Yeovil Hospital a minimum of £65,000 - £70,000 per year. This figure is based on the cost of using local taxis to provide a similar service. This figure would be even higher if the hospital were to run their own service with NHS personnel and vehicles.
